BrightStor ArcServe Question

I have a strange problem that seemed to appear around 4 days ago.
We are running SQL2000 on a Windows 2003 Server machine - fully updated by
Microsoft Windows Updates. The machine is running BrightStor ArcServe 11.0
and SQL agent and BAOF agent.
My backups are scehduled to run every evening at 18:30. However, after 10
minutes (after backing up the Registry and System State) the job crashes with
E8604.
I updated the product with a patch off the CASupportConnect site, to deal
with the SQL Agent. This was yesterday afternoon when I applied the patch
and rebooted. I did a test backup (C drive and a SQL database and it worked
fine). Last nights backup crashed (as mentioned above). However, when I ran
the job manually the backup worked fine.
It seems that I am only getting the problem on scheduled jobs. The backups
have been going on everyday for several months, and this is a new one for me.
Can someone help?
The machine it is running on is a Dell PE4600 with an LTO2 PowerVault 110T
Internal tape drive. The BrightStor ArcServe version is v11.0. Build is
2670.
The patch I installed yesterday was the QO70769.CAZ.
Please help!

Hi
Are you backing up to tape directly or to disc and t hen tape?
What are your scheduled jobs doing?
Which version of SQL Server is this?
